

Press release on the events of the 196th anniversary of THE BATTLE OF THE THREE EMPERORS 2001

This is the detailed program of all of the events to be held from 30
November to 2 December 2001.
Preconstruction of The Battle of the Three Emperors - Tvarožná u
Brna, 1 December 2001, at 13:00
* Thanks to the partnership with the Brno Municipal Mass Transit
Company, free shuttle-bus service will be ensured for the public this
year as well - from the Main Train Station to Rohlenka and back, with
additional runs added depending on public interest (9:00 to 19:00).
We warn the public that there is a lack of parking places at the
event's venue, and that there will be many traffic restrictions. At
the same time we would like to point out that we do not recommend that
you bring your dogs with you, due to the shooting and pyrotechnics.
* All visitors and participants will be insured.
* Admission is 99 CZK, and children up to 120 cm in height and the
handicapped will be admitted free of charge. The ticket price
traditionally includes 2 dl of mulled wine or a warm non-alcoholic
beverage, and other small keepsakes. There will be no early sale of
tickets. Tickets will be on sale at the venue on the day of the event.
* This year, 1,100 members of military history clubs from throughout
Europe will take part in the reconstruction of The Battle of the Three
Emperors under Santon Hill.
* The author of the scenario is MUDr. Miroslav Novotný of the
Napoleonic Union of the Czech Republic.
* This year, a record of 300 kg of black gunpowder will be shot from
678 rifles and pistols on the battlefield, with most of the powder
being used up by 26 cannons.
On 1 December 2001 a book by František Kopecký, "The Battle near
Slavkov and Moravia," will be released at Tvarožná. The book contains
180 pages, and includes some as yet unpublished, unique appendixes and
facts from old chronicles.

We cannot send you a car entry permit and the relevant signs that
will allow your entry the areas reserved for VIP guests and areas
closed to the public without prior accreditation. On 1 December 2001,
Tvarožná will be closed to all traffic, and entry will be possible
only with a permit!
